New WBP Officers

In keeping with WBP's custom of changing leadership (and passing on the ceremonial corkscrew) at each spring's Book Design & Effectiveness Award Ceremony, Julian Graubart, senior director of books and electronic products at the American Pharmacists Association, has taken over the president's job for 2010-2011.

On July 8, Julian announced the next WBP vice president: Jack Bruggeman, director of special publishing at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Jack has a strong background in book publishing, including positions as executive editor of Allied Health at Jones and Bartlett Publishers, director of Health and Science for Aspen Publishers, and acquisitions editor at ASCE Press. Next spring, Jack will step into the president's shoes for 2011-2012.

Sarah Ely, production manager at American Occupational Therapy Association, wrapped up a three-year stint at WBP's treasurer and will soon be handing the check book and deposit stamp to the new treasurer, Kay Hechler of the U.S. Institute for Peace.

Many thanks to Sarah and outgoing WBP President Chris Kelaher for their service and leadership.
